Vaccine Vial Project: Courage During COVID-19
The ICA San José, and SVCreates are excited to announce the artists selected for the Vaccine Vial Project, Peter Foucalt and Chris Treggairi.
Peter and Chris present Timeline of Greatness, a large-scale, digital multimedia installation and series of community engagements. This will be a meaningful and impactful project that celebrates and honors both healthcare professionals and shares the enduring stories of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initial groundwork for this project includes workshops and interviews with the public sharing their voice about navigating the pandemic. These interviews and the collection of stories, experiences, and feelings will make up the visual components displayed on the monitors.
The scope of this project will include utilizing all 1,000 vials provided as an essential component to create a modular wall mounted multimedia piece that will be transported to hospitals and vaccine sites throughout the San José and Silicon Valley area.
On Friday, September 3rd from 5-9pm, Peter and Chris for South FIRST FRIDAYS will set up an interactive workshop that will provide the public with a free take away hand screen printed poster with a write in space that will capture stories and experiences that can be incorporated into the project. The artists will provide two (4’ x 2’) tables, one with a live screen printing demo conducted by Foucault and the second will be a conversation space where Treggiari will talk to the public and walk them through how they can respond to the conversation prompts on the poster.
