We are delighted to learn of your interest in becoming a board member at the ICA San José. We are seeking individuals who share the values stated in the ICA’s vision and mission:

• Vision: In a region noted for its spirit of innovation and global influence, contemporary art is valued for enriching and revealing our shared humanity.
• Mission: The ICA San José champions artists and cultivates engagement with contemporary art through thought-provoking exhibitions and programs.

The ICA Board consists of volunteers who are deeply engaged in shaping strategy, partnering with staff, and supporting the executive director in fundraising and making connections across the region. Over the last few years we’ve seen growth in audiences, deeper partnerships, more exposure and increased investment. 

Being on the board offers a special opportunity to build lasting connections and be part of transformative experiences. There are opportunities for many different types of involvement and skill sets, such as helping to develop a digital presence, exploring outreach and marketing strategies, ongoing pro bono legal support, and supporting fundraising efforts. 

Board members contribute their time, expertise, and networks in meaningful ways. They also maintain an annual membership at our highest level, the Changemaker Director’s Circle, which includes access to special programs and the ICA’s renowned travel opportunities.
