For the Love of Art: Celebrating the Ralph & Sheila Pickett Collection

May 22, 2024 by Tachiya Bryant

FOR THE LOVE OF ART

Celebrating the Ralph & Sheila Pickett Collection

Silent auction: Saturday, July 27, 2024, 6:00-9:00 PM
Art Object Gallery

Proceeds from the silent auction will go to support the Institute of Contemporary Art San José.

The San Jose arts community has thrived due to the dedication and love for the arts exemplified by numerous individuals, including Ralph and Sheila Pickett. The Pickett collection reflects Ralph and Sheila’s own process of investigating what artists were thinking and creating and why, while surrounding themselves with artworks that challenged ideas about artmaking.

They were deeply committed to supporting artists and actively involved in multiple Bay Area and San Jose arts institutions. In recent years we have lost these dedicated souls. The community now has an opportunity to view, appreciate, and acquire some of the more than 450 works of art that Ralph and Sheila collected over many decades. Bidding is now live!
